Setting up with Highlight
This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:
- Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
- Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"

Reaper Reapy McpCommand (node, npx, python, etc.)Please refer to the README for specific instructions on how to obtain API keys or other required environment variables.
- Enable "Start Automatically" if you want the plugin to start when Highlight launches
From the repository
Install REAPER, Python 3.7+, and the required packages (python-reapy, mcp[cli]). Enable the Python extension and the reapy remote API in REAPER. Start the MCP server with python src/run_mcp_server.py or test via test_mcp.bat. Configure an MCP client (e.g., Claude Desktop) with the command python <path>\src\run_mcp_server.py.

Installation
1. Install REAPER if you haven't already 2. Install the required Python packages: ``bash

MCP Integration
The application includes MCP tools for remote control. To use them:
1. Start the MCP server:

2. Use the MCP inspector to test the tools:

- test_connection: Verify connection to REAPER
- create_track: Create a new track
- rename_track: Rename an existing track
