Setting up with Highlight

This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:

  1. Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
  2. Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"
  3. Configure the plugin with the settings below
    Plugin Name Mailchimp MCP Server
    Command (node, npx, python, etc.)

    Please refer to the README for specific instructions on how to obtain API keys or other required environment variables.

  4. Enable "Start Automatically" if you want the plugin to start when Highlight launches

From the repository

Install with pip install mcp-mailchimp. Obtain a Mailchimp API key from your account settings. Configure your MCP client (e.g., claude_desktop_config.json) with the command mcp-mailchimp and the environment variable MAILCHIMP_API_KEY. Alternatively, run directly with MAILCHIMP_API_KEY=your-key mcp-mailchimp.

Quick Start

1. Install

pip install mcp-mailchimp

Or from source:

git clone https://github.com/AlexlaGuardia/mcp-mailchimp.git
cd mcp-mailchimp
pip install .

2. Get Your API Key

1. Log in to Mailchimp
2. Go to Account & Billing > Extras > API Keys
3. Click Create A Key
4. Copy the key (format: xxxxxxxxxx-usXX)

3. Configure Your Client
