Setting up with Highlight

This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:

  1. Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
  2. Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"
  3. Configure the plugin with the settings below
    Plugin Name Macuse
    Command (node, npx, python, etc.)

    Please refer to the README for specific instructions on how to obtain API keys or other required environment variables.

  4. Enable "Start Automatically" if you want the plugin to start when Highlight launches

From the repository

Download and launch Macuse from the official website, grant Accessibility permissions, and generate an access token. Then configure your MCP-compatible AI client (e.g., Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Raycast) using the provided JSON configuration with stdio or SSE transport. Once configured, simply give natural language commands to control your Mac.

Macuse is a native Mac app that lets AI assistants like Claude, Cursor, and Raycast control your computer through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Turn natural language commands into real actions:

Setup Process

1. Download from macuse.app/download
2. Drag Macuse.app to your Applications folder
3. Launch Macuse from Applications
4. Grant Accessibility permissions when prompted
5. Generate your access token

Configuration

Tip: You can copy configurations directly from the Macuse app or use one-click auto-configuration.
