Setting up with Highlight
This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:
- Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
- Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"

From the repository
1. Clone the repository and install dependencies:
git clone git@github.com:Iwark/linear-mcp-server.git
cd linear-mcp-server
npm install
2. Create a startup script:

create-issue
Create a new Linear issue with specified parameters: title (required), teamId (required), description (optional), priority (optional), stateId (optional), assigneeId (optional), estimate (optional), labelIds (optional).
search-issues
Search Linear issues using a query string. Supports filters like assignee, priority, state, team, label, and free text search for title and description.
read-resource
Read Linear resources using URIs such as linear://organization, linear://issues, linear://issues/{id}, linear://teams, linear://teams/{id}.
