Setup

Install Reddit MCP Server in your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, and others).

Create a.envfile based on.env.example

Do this with yourREDDIT_CLIENT_IDandREDDIT_CLIENT_SECRET

If you want to write posts you need to include yourREDDIT_USERNAMEandREDDIT_PASSWORD(don't worry, I won't steal them 😜)
- Run withnpm run devand open the inspection server (
http://127.0.0.1:6274/)
- If the connection works, add this to your MCP config (for Cursor or Claude, depending on which agent you are using)
