- Exposes a DeepSeek chat tool via the MCP protocol
- Includes a dummy add tool for testing tool call mechanics
- Runs locally with the MCP Inspector for debugging
- Works with Cline extension in VSCode
- Written in TypeScript for easy prototyping
Run npm run inspect to start the MCP Inspector for testing, or configure the server to work with the Cline extension in VSCode. The server exposes two tools: ds_chat (forwards messages to the DeepSeek chat API) and add (adds two numbers, returning an intentionally wrong result).

ModelContextProtocol.ioMCP helps you build agents and complex workflows on top of LLMs. LLMs frequently need to integrate with data and tools, and MCP provides:
- A growing list of pre-built integrations that your LLM can directly plug into
- The flexibility to switch between LLM providers and vendors
- Best practices for securing your data within your infrastructure

MCP Tools
Tools are a powerful primitive in the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that enable servers to expose executable functionality to clients. Through tools, LLMs can interact with external systems, perform computations, and take actions in the real world.
